CEO
Nico founded Cheshir based on groundbreaking research he conducted at Notre Dame as part of his doctoral studies. He is a world-leading expert in GRIN lens technology and its application to antenna systems.

CTO
Nick Estes is a microwave engineer with a background in record-breaking low-power nonlinear microwave receivers and advanced antenna design. He is a Notre Dame alum and is an inventor on five patents in the field of wireless sensing and communication.

VP of Business Development
Bob Senior is driving Cheshir’s commercial pipeline and go-to-market strategy. He has over 30 years of experience in scaling tech startups, with roles ranging from sales to business development to CEO in fields as diverse as software, touchscreens, 3D printing, and antennas. He has overseen international expansions, acquisitions, and IPOs.

Chief Technical Advisor
For the past decade, Jon Chisum has been spearheading research into practical design and manufacturing of GRIN lenses at the University of Notre Dame, where he is an assistant professor. Jon advises Cheshir on a wide array of technical topics including emerging applications, transceiver architectures, and lens design. Jon received a Ph.D. in electrical engineering from UC Boulder, and, prior to becoming a professor, Jon worked on the technical staff at MIT Lincoln Laboratories.

Director of Operations
Having literally written the book on contract manufacturing, Walt manages Cheshir’s supply chain and vendor relations. Walt has over 30 years of experience in advanced manufacturing including automotive, RF, and medical and lectures at MIT on supply chain management

Advisor
With an extremely successful and diverse career spanning corporate and academic telecommunications R&D and a tenure as the CTO of the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), Monisha advises Cheshir on commercial use of spectrum and trends in wireless telecommunications. Formerly a professor at the University of Chicago, she has been with the University of Notre Dame since 2022, where she conducts research on 5G cellular, next-generation Wi-Fi systems, IoT, coexistence and spectrum sharing. She is an IEEE Fellow.

Advisor
Charles is a microwave and RF expert with deep experience in the government, military, and aerospace domains. As a former scientist working with the National Telecommunications and Information Administration’s Institute for Telecommunication Science (NTIA-ITS), Charles advises Cheshir on trends in federal spectrum use and emerging nondilutive funding opportunities. He is currently a principal engineer with Chaos Inc.

Advisor
Dominic guides Cheshir regarding operations, finance, and fundraising. He leverages his experience as both a current investor and as a former hardware founder, having led a successful exit. Dominic is currently an associate with Nomadic Venture Partners.
